Different Perspective Brings New Discovery; a Walk for Sakura Photos

I went out to a park in my neighborhood to take some photos the other day.

It had been a few years since I last took a walk just for photography.

It was only a 1.5km (≒1 mile) walk.

Away from everyday chores, I was able to get focused on taking nice pictures during my walk. I felt refreshed, and it also gave me an opportunity to see things from a different angle.

Cherry blossoms that I went out for

Yoshino cherry blossoms had already started blooming.

The blossoms have begun opening earlier year by year probably due to global warming.

They are beautiful neverthless.

I would like to go view them with my friends next year.

The weather was nice and warm. It was actually too warm for me in many layers of clothes.

I was lucky to see these cherry blossoms with the blue sky in the background.

What the grass in a vacant lot taught me

On my way home, I saw some grass shining in the sun in a vacant lot.

I squatted down to lower my eye point, set the f stop larger to let more light into the camera, and captured the moment when the wind stopped.

I did a good job.

If you look at the same spot when you’re walking, the vacant lot looks like this.

I captured the grass in the red frame.

I was able to take a really nice picture just by shooting from a different angle, and that made me think of something.

I have been trying to be able to support myself financially since last year. I have tried opening more slots for my lessons and putting more time on blogging, but things haven’t been going well.

My cat contracted a liver disease, which requires me to take him to the vet often, I got sicker when I tried to open slots every week, and I didn’t get to write my blogs even half as much as I wanted to.

However, there also are good signs: I have become able to prepare for each lesson more efficiently and enjoy interacting with other people.

Now I think that looking at things from a different angle may give you a fresh insight about life. You may come across something that you never expected.

Cherry blossoms out in bloom above your head are not the only spring flowers. You can feel the beautiful spring vibe at your own feet.

It’s easy to get jealous when you look around and see your successful friends and the people that you respect enjoy their lives to the full exent, but it’s important to remind yourself to look at the things that you have at times.

Feeling the spring breeze on my cheeks, I walked back home under the warm sunlight.
